Re-Engineering Business Processes
Business process re-engineering is a business management strategy, originally pioneered in the early 1990s, focusing on the analysis and design of workflows and business processes within an organization. BPR aimed to help organizations fundamentally rethink how they do their work in order to dramatically improve customer service, cut operational costs and be competitive in the market.
BPR is a continuous cycle which every business must review after ad certain period of time as this help companies radically restructure their organizations by focusing on the ground-up design of their business processes.
A business process is a set of logically related tasks performed to achieve a defined business outcome. Re-engineering emphasized a holistic focus on business objectives and how processes related to them, encouraging full-scale recreation of processes rather than iterative optimization of sub processes.
Business process re-engineering is also known as business process redesign, business transformation, or business process change management.

SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT/ INTEGRATION
Information System Planning (ISP) helps integrate IT with the business. IS needs to be an integrated resource within the organization contributing to the organization's core competencies resulting in sustainable competitive advantage? IS planning is not an on-off or an occasional event, but a continuous sustained process, as organizations plan, re-plan and respond to changes in the business environment.
In engineering, system integration is defined as the process of bringing together the component subsystems into one system and ensuring that the subsystems function together as a system. In information technology, systems integration is the process of linking together different computing systems and software applications physically or functionally, to act as a coordinated whole.
The system integrator brings together discrete systems utilizing a variety of techniques such as computer networking, enterprise application integration, business process management or manual programming.
